Arts & Music
Students receive instruction in Art once a week through the Abrakadoodle Art Program. Students are introduced to many different types of media, and their work is displayed proudly throughout the school building. Soon our middle school students will be working with Ms. Morgan, our art teacher, to plan and paint a food-related mural in our cafeteria!
Coming next year, Archbishop Borders School plans to offer a bilingual drama program to students in 1st - 8th grades after school! Stay tuned for more information!
In our Music classes, students are taught beginning music concepts and techniques through the methods of Kodaly Music Education. Musical concepts are taught through singing, listening, and movement. These concepts are reinforced and built upon through exercises and songs. Our students are taught music history, theory, and aural skills. Starting in the 3rd Grade students have the opportunity to play the recorder using the program Recorder Karate. The students also use the piano keyboard, guitar, and various percussion instruments to further enhance their music education.
