Class Dojo: Stay connected to your child’s teachers with information regarding classes, schedules, homework, and projects through ClassDojo! This app allows our teacher and parents to communicate to share photos of children learning. The school also shares information with families through ClassDojo. Contact your child’s teacher for sign-up information.

PowerSchool allows parents to keep current with their child’s progress by viewing grades online. Bullying: Archbishop Borders School does not tolerate harrassment, intimidation, or bullying at all. If you encounter any situations, please complete this Bullying Report Form and return it to the principal.

Uniforms:

Students are expected to be in uniform each school day.  All parts of the school uniforms (formal and gym) must be purchased at the uniform company, Flynn O’Hara, except for the shoes, belts, socks, and button-down shirts. These items may be purchased at any convenient store, as long as they follow the guidelines listed below.

General Grooming

● Hair that is clean, combed, and cut without names, initials, symbols, etc.
● Hair that is free of glitter and artificial coloring
● Faces without makeup
● Clear nail polish
● Jewelry is limited to modest earrings (posts only; no dangles or hoops); one earring in each ear lobe.
● Boys are not permitted to wear earrings.
● Arms, hands, legs, etc. free of writing and wash-off tattoos
● Bodies without visible tattoos or piercings: nose, eyelids, lip, tongue, etc.
● Pants to the waist with a black belt.
● Clothing fits and is neither too tight or too short

Tag Day Expectations

Tag days are days that students may bring in $1 to be out of uniform. These days are a privilege and are meant to be enjoyed. In order to continue receiving this privilege, students must abide by certain guidelines. Most importantly, students must dress appropriately for any tag day. The administration reserves the right to call parents to bring appropriate clothing if students are not covered properly, dressed in anything too short, too low, or not enough. Students may not wear shirts that imply inappropriate comments. Boys must at all times wear pants to the waist. Exposed undergarments are not acceptable. 

Violation of Uniform Policy

The administration will not admit students to school in violation of the uniform policy. All clothing must be the correct size and must be purchased from the approved list of styles. Please do not allow your child to leave home or come into school out of uniform. You will be called to bring the correct clothing or to pick your child up for noncompliance of school policy.

With our longstanding commitment in mind, all parishes and Archdiocesan Catholic Schools use VIRTUS, a compliance management system that allows all parishes and schools to facilitate compliance with Archdiocesan child protection requirements for all volunteers who work with minors, employees, and clergy.

All those who wish to work or volunteer in our school must be appropriately screened and trained and provide three written references to the school. All who wish to do so must go to virtusonline.org. You will register by clicking “First-Time Registrant.” Select: “Begin the registration process,” and then “Baltimore Archdiocese.” You will create a login-ID and password.
