Technology in the Classroom
Technology use is essential to every Catholic school curriculum. In fact, technology is required to be integrated throughout each course of study, from Mathematics to Religion. The use of technology in the 21st century is integral to preparing students for college and career success. Technology instruction in Catholic schools covers a variety of lessons, including Research and Information Fluency, Digital Citizenship, Creativity and Innovation, Communication and Collaboration. All of these topics are taught and influenced through the lens of Catholic identity and the dignity of all humankind.
At Archbishop Borders, we thoughtfully integrate technology throughout the curriculum. Students in grades 3-8 each have their own Chromebooks, while students in grades 1 and 2 share use of our Chromebook carts, with limited screen time, giving them an opportunity to learn about technology through structured learning experiences.
For students in pre-k through Kindergarten, we believe that their educational time is best spent without the daily use of technology, focusing on hands-on learning and social interactions.
All of our chromebooks are monitored through the use of Go Guardian to ensure our students are safely using technology and accessing only pre-approved education sites.
Inside Our Classrooms:
Each of our classrooms include a BenQ interactive whiteboard.
Students are not permitted to access personal cell phones during the school day.
